Since taking my passion for fashion to the retail floor, my weekly average of 90%+ CRM results, strong customer acquisition, and high-value sales have substantially contributed to my team’s success quarter to quarter. I focus on providing an efficient and authentic customer experience that establishes customer loyalty, while expressing attentiveness to each individual's specific needs.
As “the face” of Musicfest, I spearheaded sponsor and public relations by coordinating all ticketing operations, supervising the VIP section on concert nights – including all its volunteers and ushers – and providing administrative and marketing support every day in-office. While ensuring Musicfest’s 100+ sponsors were cared for and organized, I pursued establishing new relationships within the community with the potential to generate new sponsorships. When handling back-end concert operations like responding to band needs and requests, I always operated in a highly professional manner.
For 18 months, I served as Coin President Andris Pone’s right hand in copywriting, brand marketing, and project management for some of Canada’s most elite financial advisors. As lead Writer & Social Media Manager, I worked directly with our clients – advisors and corporate – and their compliance officers, authoring high-quality written communications for online circulation while managing approximately a dozen LinkedIn accounts. I conducted professional interviews with individuals for biography writing and assisted in other interviews to develop brand foundations and names for our clients. Andris offered extensive mentorship in branding best practices that taught me how to design effective, timeless high-end brands. I coined Coin Custom’s tagline: It doesn’t get better than you.™️
Winning the vote for Student Governor as a freshman against 5 senior competitors, I immediately developed a strong momentum in accessibility advocacy. The most enduring contribution I made was to the Board members' Annual Housing Tour in 2019; I created an interactive Accessibility Information Sheet and Accessibility Scavenger Hunt which was noted as an “excellent educational tool” for the University and is still in use today.
As the Terry Fox Foundation Poster Girl of 2016, I authored quarterly articles in relation to my experiences as a traveling motivational speaker.
While I was still a student, I voluntarily traveled Ontario delivering motivational speeches to drive fundraising and awareness for non-profit organizations. I would deliver a 20-30 speech that I’d written, showcase a short documentary made on my life called Being Tessa, then open the floor for a Q&A period. I did this for over six years for elementary and high schools, post-secondary institutions, businesses, commerce and corporate events alike, successfully raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Terry Fox Foundation and SickKids Foundation. It was these years of dedicated humanitarianism that revealed my natural knack for public relations, communications, and networking.
